Follow These 8 Blogs (and Take Notes for Your Own!)
Oct 16, 2015
I can’t praise the power of blogging enough.
From boosting SEO to establishing expertise, and generating an invaluable subscriber list, it is integral to the success of any Inbound strategy -- and no one knows that better than an Inbound Marketer.
Also as Inbound Marketers, however, we at IMPACT know that a truly great blog is hard to find.
Nothing speaks higher for your brand’s content than being followed, shared, and appreciated by fellow industry experts. If the best of the best can find value in what you have to say, you must be doing something right, right?
Well, whether it’s content, design, or strategy, the blogs below are some of our team members’ favorites. Their approaches to the medium are not only engaging, but they offer diverse and unexpected inspiration for our own strategies.
Take a look (and take notes!)
Upvoted.com
“Upvoted.com, and I’ll tell you why. Reddit is a wonderful place, where you can find communities built around your interests. Upvoted.com is a human-curated digest that the site’s team and reddit co-founder, Alexis Ohanian, create once a week, while poking around subreddits( ~9,000 communities).
It’s the cream of the crop, the best of the best, and the cat’s meow. Redditors like myself sometimes don’t see content outside of our usual communities, so it’s enlightening to see the videos, images, AMAs, and truly unique content that Upvoted shares.” - Derrick Weiss, Account Executive
Tobias van Schneider (Product Design Lead at Spotify NYC)
“My favorite blog to follow is, hands down, Tobias van Schneider’s personal blog. As one of the top designers in the world, van Schneider’s blog is full of personal and professional insight. If you want to get some great, cutting edge ideas coming at you once a week(ish) and wrapped up in a bow, then give it a follow.” - Donny Wilson, Creative Lead
CopyBlogger
"I follow the Copyblogger blog closely. Writing and sharing content is an ever evolving organism. There are always new techniques and platforms to try. I love that Copyblogger keeps me up-to-date on those things (and all in one place might I add) in a way that is extraordinarily useful and fun at the same time. I'm never bored reading their posts; That’s key for my learning.” - Amanda Leclair, Client Resource Manager
Seth Godin
“One of my favorite blogs to follow is Seth Godin’s. Seth goes straight to the point with his blog posts. They’re not too lengthy and I love the personal development element he always provides.”
The IMPACT Blog
“I also enjoy reading blog posts written by colleagues here at IMPACT. Reading these help me understand their roles a lot more, and their interests with respect to blogging or writing.”
The Digital Project Manager
Lastly, I turn to The Digital Project Manager. This choice stems from my interest in project management. DPM does a great job of providing unique content and industry updates. They also share a lot of great tools. - Kwaku Awuah, Delivery Lead
Jalopnik
“I love Jalopnik.com! They really stand out in my mind and not because of the amazing cars they share. Jalopnik not only provides unique content, they also religiously engage with their audience. Open any of their articles and take note of the stream of comments attached. It’s an inspiration to any blogger,” - Kyle Bento, Business Development Representative
Designer News
“One of my favorite blogs to follow is Designer News. Whether you’re interested in UI, Web Design, tech company updates, or the latest web fonts, they’ll have something for you. They’re also backed by an awesome community of designers who are always giving insightful feedback on articles and submission. It’s the perfect combination of interesting information and healthy conversation” - Joe Rinaldi, Creative Supervisor
