When Your Sales Reps Don’t Update Their Close Dates
Are your Closed Won over time reports looking off? It could be because your reps aren’t updating the Close Date to accurately reflect when a deal closes (either leaving it as the default, or estimating it and then never updating).
So how do you create more accurate reports for when deals are closing? Instead of using the Close Date property in your reports, used the reporting-only property Entered Stage Date - [Closed Won].
This way you’ll be able to see the exact day a deal was moved to closed won, rather than relying on your reps to input that data.
Except if your reps aren’t keeping up to date on their deal board… but that’s a whole other thing ;)
What’s on Marcus’ Mind
After doing video for a year, why are some companies still at a 4 out of 10?

HubSpot Wishlist: Bring Back the "Create a Draft" Option on HubSpot Calendar
This one’s from our girl Ramona - IMPACT’s content queen!
“We use the HubSpot Calendar extensively to manage the publishing of over 60 people at our company and I noticed recently that we can no longer add a draft when creating a blog task -- It's been a huge pain point ever since!
By creating the draft at the same time as task, we could ensure that the correct campaign was attached, along with the correct author, publish time, and that the article got published on the correct blog. I can't tell you how many times we've run into the issue of people staging their articles on the wrong blog or not attaching a campaign when drafting articles on their own.
I wish that little checkbox would come back and help streamline our processes again!”
HubSpot Updates
[Heads Up] Editable Shopify Deals
“Currently, when Shopify deals are synced to HubSpot, you aren’t able to edit them. This is because the ecommerce bridge is a one way sync from your Shopify store to HubSpot -- which means that Shopify is the source of truth for your ecommerce data. This setup blocks you from updating your deal information so that currently only the connected store to is able to update deal data.
That’s why starting on June 18th, you will be able to edit and delete deals within HubSpot that are synced from your connected Shopify ecommerce store (keep in mind currently products and line items are still not editable).
Keep in mind the ecommerce bridge is still a one-way sync. Updates made in HubSpot will not sync back to your connected Shopify store. When changes happen in your connected store, they will sync to update the deal in HubSpot.”
