The Internet's Day Off: The 26 Funniest Twitter Reactions to the Amazon S3 Outage
Mar 1, 2017
If you haven’t heard, the internet died yesterday.
Well, not really -- but Amazon S3 went down, and it took much of the internet with it.
The effects of the outage were so expansive, I had to originally publish this article on Medium and IMPACT was forced to cancel its February Website Throwdown.
(It's been rescheduled to this Friday, March 3rd at 2:00PM EST, by the way. Don't miss it!):
But anyway —
The Amazon Web Services tool that provides storage for millions of website files across the globe (including popular tools and sites such as Quora, Buffer, Slack, Giphy, Expedia, Airbnb, Zendesk, MailChimp, Unbounce, NewsCorp, Pinterest, shall I continue?) experienced a major outage on the U.S. East Coast beginning as early as 10:00 AM.
The technical difficulties sent tech companies and internet users (like IMPACT) into a frenzy and needless to say, hilarity ensued on Twitter.
Here are some of our favorite Twitter reactions to the Amazon S3 outage:
