Get Happy! How to Combat End-of-the-Year Burnout [Infographic]
Dec 2, 2017
Ah, the holiday season.
No matter what your walk of life, it's an exciting time -- but it can often be a very testing one as well.
If you’re in marketing, it should come as no surprise that 62% of those in the industry describe themselves as “stressed,” “overly stressed,” or “stressed to the max." (And that’s just on an average day.)
Flash forward to the final days of the year and the numbers are bound to rise even higher.
If you're feeling the weight get a little heavier on your shoulders this month, you're certainly not alone, but that doesn't mean you should take it lying down.
Hitting metrics, rushing into last-minute meetings, and strategizing for next year can all take their toll on talent in every role, especially on top of trying to enjoy the holidays.
The long hours and stress can not only cut morale and your overall productivity, they can inevitably lead to burnout.
That's why, in this infographic, I’ve outlined some interesting statistics from Happify and Workfront as well as a few ways marketers (or anyone really) can combat end-of-the-year burnout and get happy!
Here are some of the highlights:
- 80% of marketers say that they are "overworked" and "understaffed"
- 59% of people say they check work emails during traditional holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas.
- Stress can negatively affect your heart health, weight, memory, and sleep among other things.
- 78% of people say volunteering in the past has helped them feel less stressed. (In fact, it made them feel like they had more free time.)
