By Carina Duffy
May 17, 2018
This episode of the Hubcast is brought to you by our friends at IMPACT Live 2018.
#INBOUND18 Speakers are out! (They must have heard us last week.)
For the next few weeks, we’ll be talking about some of the titles that intrigue us the most. Here’s what caught our eye this week:
- Account Based Marketing: It's Not Just for Big Companies Anymore - Sharon Gillenwater
- As Far as AI Can See: Exploring the AI-Powered Future of Search - Purna Virji, Microsoft (2016 PPC Hero #1 most influential PPC Expert in the world)
- Assembly Required: Why Your Small Business Should Have An Event Strategy - Kenny Nguyen
Property of the Week: Sales Enablement Series
In our sales enablement series, we’ll be focusing on properties that will help your sales team sell better!
HubSpot Score
“The number that shows qualification of contacts to sales readiness. It can be set in HubSpot's Lead Scoring app.”
In order to use this property, you’ve got some work to do! You need to get lead scoring set up in HubSpot, but before you even do that, you need to get on the same page with your sales team about what your lead scoring criteria should be.
This is the ultimate sales enablement property because you have to do sales and marketing alignment to be able to even use it in the first place!
Great properties to use in tandem with HubSpot Score: Lifecycle Stage (advance lifecycle stage based on HubSpot score), Persona, Likelihood to Close.
HubSpot Wish List
Allow multiple HubSpot owners to be assigned to Contacts, Companies, and Deals
(This came from a client of ours.)
"Many (if not all) of our clients need the ability to attribute multiple owners to Contacts, Companies, and Deals in the CRM.
In our case, we have multiple people working on the same deal. Currently, all I can do is filter the deals by the HubSpot owner but I would love to be able to track the ROI of individual salesmen but I get incomplete data right now because they might have worked on part of a quote that was assign to someone else because we cant add multiple users."
This problem shows up when you set users so that they can only see their assigned contacts and unassigned contacts.
The current workarounds (not setting a user or just not working in a team) are... less than satisfactory. It would be great to hear when this change comes.
The other workaround is adding additional custom properties for different types of owners. This is limited at best.

HubSpot Updates
[In Beta] Local Defaults available for personalization tokens in the Rich Text Editor
“Each personalization token within a rich text module can now have an individual local default.”
All the praise hands for this one! You can edit the global defaults for all personalization tokens now in Email Content Settings.
[In Beta] A/B Test Web Pages
“Just like emails, CTAs, and landing pages, you can now run A/B tests on web pages so you can learn from your site traffic, and determine exactly what yields the best results.”
How did this not exists before?? We don’t know why HubSpot never put this functionality in web pages like they had for landing pages, but we’re sure glad it’s here now!
[Heads Up] Important Updates to the HubSpot-Salesforce Connector
“On August 1, HubSpot users who integrate with Salesforce will get access to a faster, more secure, and more flexible version of the Salesforce connector.”
TL;DR - you’re going to get an updated HubSpot Insights window in Salesforce with filtered views, more streamlined property syncing, and Salesforce users will need a HubSpot login to view any HubSpot data.
[Now Live] Upload Multiple Files at once to your Forms
“You can now upload multiple files at a time to one file upload field within a HubSpot Form.”
[Now Live] a Roundup of All the Fresh New Features and Updates Now Available in Sales Hub
Check out all of the updates here. There are improvements to Messages (set Office Hours for live chat, display typical response times, toggle availability on and off, and get notified and response to a message in Slack).
The addition of Recommendations allows you to batch enroll contacts into Sequences and recommends updates to optimize them.
Last but certainly not least, HubSpot released the Quotes feature in the Sales Tool - allowing you to create and send customized quotes to contacts - and it even integrates with Stripe for payment!
And now for the one we’ve all been waiting for…
[Now Live] HubSpot Service Hub
“With the addition of Service Hub, HubSpot now offers a full front office solution. Customers will have one view of the customer across sales, marketing, and service and have everything they need to go from funnel to flywheel.”Learn More
The new tools within the Services Hub
This product launch shows HubSpot’s shift into the #CustomerLove space.
Their new “flywheel” diagram is centered around customers being the key to better marketing (watch the video here), replacing the traditional sales and marketing funnel.
