Hubcast 186: Breaking News for Marketing Hub, Products Tool, & Major Facebook Updates
By Carina Duffy
Jul 26, 2018
This episode of the Hubcast is brought to you by Qwilr.
Why am I excited about our live Hubcast recording at INBOUND? Because I just got 500 Hubcast stickers made that we’ll be giving out to all of our attendees!
[Breaking News] The New Marketing Hub Starter
“The new Marketing Hub Starter gives you all the tools you need to start marketing right. Out of the box, you can begin engaging and converting your audience with ads, forms, and a brand new email tool that will help you engage with your growing list of leads.”
Guys… this is huge. And the first step in HubSpot’s restructuring of their product offerings. For $50/mo you get access to everything in free plus the Email tool and 25 lists.
Hand in hand with this, HubSpot Academy just released a hugely-improved Email Marketing Certification. Stay tuned for a special episode with Academy professor Courtney Semler very soon!
Property of the Week: Company Property Series
First Contact Create Date & First Deal Create Date
First Contact Create Date: “The day the first contact for this company was created in your account. This can pre-date the company's Create Date property (automatically populates).”
First Deal Created Date: “The day the first deal was created for a contact at this company (automatically populates).”
What’s on Marcus’ Mind
HubSpot Wishlist: Better reporting for Products
“I am very happy that the new "Products" feature was added under deals. I think this gives the opportunity to create very good reports on sales by-products.
However, I would like the opportunity to create custom reports using the products. I would like to create, for example, the revenue from each product over time in a line graph, the cumulative revenue from products over time in a stacked area graph.
At the moment, the "Sales by Item" and "Average selling price" table reports available among the pre-made reports are not very visually descriptive. I would like the opportunity to customize them.” - virginiam
Honestly, the Products tool is lacking all around right now. It’s very basic and seems a bit half-baked right now, rendering it almost unusable by most organizations.
This Episode’s Sponsor: Qwilr
I walked by one of my coworker’s desks the other day and saw they had Qwilr’s website up. I hadn’t even told them about Qwilr but they had found them looking for a proposed solution for one of IMPACT’s clients.
They were like “Qwilr looks awesome.” And that’s because it is.
HubSpot Updates
[Now Live] Manage Your Social Media through the Social Calendar
“Within social publishing, you can now manage your social media schedule through a drag and drop calendar.”
Social media managers rejoice! This is great. But you’ll notice a message when you go into your social tools next.
BIG UPDATE! “On August 1, 2018, Facebook will no longer support third-party applications posting to personal Facebook accounts, but publishing to Facebook Pages is unaffected. As a result, HubSpot will no longer allow posts to be published or scheduled to personal Facebook accounts, and they will not show up in the social composer. Publishing to Facebook Pages is completely unaffected.”
[Now Live] Lead Revisit Notifications for Contacts from Offline Sources
“With this update, we’ll now be able to send lead revisit notifications to you for all contacts in your database, regardless of their original source. You can now keep better tabs on how your contacts are interacting with your site, and tailor your marketing efforts accordingly.”
[Now Live] Visual Refresh of the Tracking URL Builder
“The tracking URL Builder has been visually refreshed and moved into the analytics tools. The new tool lets you examine your URLs at a glance, and dive deeper into the links analytics directly within the tool.”
[Now Live] Service Hub: Customer Experience Surveys
“Customer experience surveys are now live inside of Feedback, a tool inside of Service Hub. Customer experience surveys are transactional surveys that help teams understand the satisfaction of their customers at a particular moment in time.”
