Hubcast 204: HubSpot User Properties, Google Search Console Integration, & Lots to Be Thankful For
By Carina Duffy
Nov 29, 2018
This episode of the Hubcast is brought to you by Aircall.
We’re coming up on the end of 2018, and it’s been a wild year. Here are a few things we’re thankful for in 2018:
-
TSL / IMPACT Merger
-
So many stinkin' product updates
-
Clients who work their butts off to make their companies successful
Property of the Week
Contact Owner (and other HubSpot User Properties)
“The owner of a contact. This can be any HubSpot user or Salesforce integration user and can be set manually or via Workflows. You can assign additional users to a contact record by creating a custom HubSpot user field type property.”
Sometimes, you need to be able to set multiple owners for a single contact.
For example, a marketing team owner, an inside sales rep owner, a sales team owner, and a service team owner. This works for setting user permissions as well (if you’re assigned to any HS user property on a contact, that counts as "Owned").
My suggestion: Use the Contact Owner property as the current owner of the contact (because you can’t currently use custom user properties to report on owned records).
Use custom user properties to track the previous or future owners of that contact.
What’s on Marcus’ Mind
Anais Nin once said, “We don’t see things as they are. We see them as we are.”
We talk about how this quote utterly applies to every organization we’ve ever had the opportunity to speak to or work with -- and why getting rid of this mindset matters so much.
HubSpot Wishlist: Allow attachments received in emails to log to CRM
[This is currently in Beta!]
“When logging emails to CRM, allow the attachments to be placed into or linked with the Deal or Contact.”
This feature has been in Beta for a few months, but is currently not available across the board.
What’s really interesting is that now ALL attachments are getting logged in the CRM, even things like in-line images from signatures.
Users are now asking for this to be rolled back or changed. I guess you don’t know what you don’t have until you have it!
