INBOUND Breakout Highlights:
(There are 17 titles this year with numbers in them, people are taking notice of HubSpot’s alphabetical session listings!)
Advanced LinkedIn Ads for the B2B Marketer - AJ Wilcox, Founder of B2Linked.com
- Audience: b2b marketers (obv), pretty much anyone interested in LinkedIn ads!
- Why we’re excited: there’s a lot more to this stuff than you might think! LI ads are about a lot more than just the sponsored direct messages you get.
Authentic Networking - We Don't Care About Your Title Carol - Strother Gaines of But I’m a Unicorn, Dammit!
- Audience: people who hate networking, people who want to make the most of networking time at INBOUND
- Why we’re excited: mostly the title! “Learn how being yourself and letting your freak flag fly is not only enough, but the most effective way to maximize your networking efforts.”
Report on This
Lifecycle Stage By Source
A few eps ago we talked about pipeline breakdown by source. Today, we’re talkin’ funnel breakdown. (When I’m talking pipeline, I’m referring to deals; when I’m talking funnel, I’m talking about contacts and their lifecycle stages).
We can visualize this a few different ways depending on what exactly we want to see, but what’s really important is our create date filter.
This report I just want to look at this quarter - how many contacts did we create from each original source, broken down by what lifecycle stage they’re at currently.
This allows me to see where my contacts came from this quarter, as well as how far along we’ve gotten them in our funnel.
Watch how I built it here:
What’s on Nick’s Mind
We’ve been talking about lead scoring a lot.
You may not have a lead scoring problem, you may a lead problem.
This Episode’s Sponsor: Cruise Control by Scripted
One of the common problems companies have is that they know they want to get more great traffic from Google, but they don't know how. They hear they should be putting out quality content, but they don't know what that means.
Maybe they don't have writers on staff, got burned by crappy outsourced writers before, or they are putting out good content, but it's not designed to rank well in Google, so they don't see any results from it.
What company doesn't want more quality traffic flowing into their website? Traffic coming into highly relevant topics, and traffic likely to become a fan and customer of the company?
Scripted's Cruise Control solves those pains.
It shows you what topics and keywords you can get traffic on. It analyzes what content ranks today to tell you exactly what type of content you need to produce to have a shot at hitting the first page of Google.
It supplies a deep pool of quality, mostly US-based writers that write engaging, well-written content. After you publish, it tracks your results, and gives you suggestions on how to promote your content.

HubSpot Wishlist: Customizing "log activity" and Task type in HubSpot Sales
“I recommend revisiting the idea to customize log activity in HubSpot Sales. I would like my team to track "Direct Mail," and I've seen others asking about logging texts and in-app messaging.”
Shoutout to Devon from DM for another gem!
HubSpot Updates
[Heads Up] Changes to "Send Later" in Gmail
“Effective May 21, 2019, HubSpot's “send later” feature will be removed from Gmail.”
Learn More
Basically, Gmail created this feature natively so you really don’t need it anymore! The only thing you lose is the “best time to send” feature:
Best time to send: (Sales Hub Professional or Enterprise only) select within 24 hours or Best time to send this week to schedule a time with a higher likelihood of opens, clicks, and replies based on the recipient's previous email engagement.
