Creativity is often compared to a muscle in the body - challenge it and it will grow, but neglect it and it turns into a Netflix-binging couch potato. (Not that there’s anything wrong with that.)
Exercising this creative muscle is essential in any discipline of marketing or design. It helps us unleash an ocean of insight and innovation. It keeps us thriving in the workplace with original thoughts and new ideas.
Unfortunately, just like a physical muscle, our creative muscle can cramp up. It's an incredibly frustrating feeling more commonly known as running into a creative roadblock.
It happens to everyone at some point in their career, but it doesn't have to bring your work to a screeching halt.
Sometimes looking for inspiration outside of the normal places is all it takes to get those creative juices flowing. Some people find it randomly when they least expect it, others take the proactive approach and go out and find it themselves.
Luckily the team over at DesignMantic put together this SlideShare presentation filled with inspirational quotes to help you break through that creative roadblock.
The SlideShare includes quotes from artists like Pablo Picasso to authors like Emily Dickinson and Dr. Seuss. Here are a couple of my favorites:
- "Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Design is knowing which ones to keep." - Scott Adams [Tweet this Quote!]
- "To design is to communicate clearly by whatever means you can control or master." - Milton Glaser [Tweet this Quote!]
- "An idea that is not dangerous is unworthy of being called an idea at all." - Oscar Wilde [Tweet this Quote!]
- "Don't spend time beating on a wall, hoping it will turn into a door" - Coco Chanel [Tweet this Quote!]
