Vidyard Officially Launches GoVideo App for iPhone
Mar 13, 2019
If you’ve read any of my articles you know my love of Vidyard.
It's that love that makes me even more excited to announce that the Vidyard GoVideo app is now open to the public.
YAY!!
Back in September, I wrote about the beta release that they did with the iPhone app, but now it’s available to all iPhone users out there. And guess what...it’s free!
Check out this example of a video I recorded using the app:
Why Should I Care About The GoVideo App for iPhones?
In case you aren’t familiar, Vidyard is a video hosting tool that allows you to easily create 1:1 video, house your video content, and connect with your audience on a much deeper level.
Previously the tool was only available on desktop, but with the release of this new app, users can now milk its benefits even on the go.
You might be saying to yourself, “But Myriah, I could just record a video directly on my phone and send it out, so what’s the difference?”
Well, Vidyard isn’t just a tool for recording.
This app truly does transform the access that sales and marketing professionals have to video.
Always Filming In An Office Setting Can Get Boring
If you are a business or sales development rep (BDR or SDR), you have to find ways to stand out from everyone else competing for your prospects’ business.
Simply recording a video in your office with the same typical background could get old after a while.
This app allows you to go out into the field and create fun/different videos that will catch someone's eye.
Who out there hasn’t juggled a laptop while also recording a cool video and had a fear of dropping it or being too shaky to create a good quality video?
IMPACT's lovely Director of Community & Audience Engagement, Stephanie Baiocchi knows the pre-app struggle...
Can I get an amen?
The Vidyard app makes it so much easier to avoid all of that.
Are You An On The Road Salesperson? This Is For You.
This tool should be even more intriguing to those salespeople out there who spend their days on the road. Having access to this video tool makes it extremely easy to record a follow-up video right after a meeting when you get back to your car (not driving obviously, safety first).
Now you don’t have to wait until you get back to your computer at the end of the day to record follow-up videos or interact with prospects.
It also allows you to interact with your prospects quickly. Instead of waiting to send a video message or get back to someone, you can send it immediately after you interact with them and connect on an even deeper level than you could do with email.
There’s Something More Personable About It
I mentioned this in my last article about the app when it was in beta, but there is just something more personable when you record a video on your phone.
People in this day and age are used to Face-timing with family and friends, and watching videos recorded on phones through social media platforms. It breaks down the cold business barrier and feels much warmer.
What feels more natural? A video recorded at a desk in an office or a video of someone outside or on the road?
The App Encourages You To Get Creative
You can easily get stuck going through the motions of creating the same types of video at your computer (I’m totally guilty of this).
Truth is, It can get boring. Not just for you, but for your prospects as well (especially if you’re prospecting). Not only are they going to be able to tell you’re going through the motions of creating videos each day stuck in your office, but getting out in the field and doing something different is going to be more engaging for your prospects.
This app encourages you to push the boundaries, to go do something fun and different and start taking your 1:1 video efforts to the next level. And when you crush your sales quota after doing this, I want to hear all about it!
Think about it, before you know it your competitors will be out there doing video just like you but chances are they’ll start in their office, at their desk, not outside doing out of the box things. Get ahead of it as early as you can or you’ll be left behind.
Features of the Vidyard App
Just like when the app was in beta, these are the features you’ll have access to through the app:
-
Access to share any of your recorded videos (easy to grab the link and text it to prospects/clients too)
-
Ability to see notifications of who has watched your video
-
Admin access to other accounts if you need to share videos other team members have recorded (This is if you have paid access)
-
Ability to share playlists
-
Ability to add a catchy title
Who Should Use It?
If you are a sales professional, or a marketing professional you should check it out. If you are already using 1:1 video at your organization that’s great and this will be another great tool to add to your tool kit. If you haven’t used it all before, try them both out and see what results you get, and how much more efficient this app might make life for you!
Send Me A Video!
I would love to see how you begin to use the app and hear about how it's making your life easier. I encourage you to download the app which you can find more info about here, and let me know your thoughts!
