IMPACT Updates
80% Videos
What are 80% videos? 80% videos are those that answer the most common questions all of your prospects ask (and probably proactively answer a few they haven’t thought of). Every salesperson answers 5-10 of the same questions on every call.
They have their answers rehearsed and sometimes even scripted. They can recite them in their sleep, and honestly, they’re probably tired of having to answer them all the time.
If you record one and send it to all of your prospects before your connect calls, you’ll now be able to go into your conversation ready to get to the nitty gritty and not waste so much time answering the same old, standard questions.
You can see an example of an 80% video by Nick on this page. Click around that site and see how many you can find! If you've done your own 80% videos share them with us in IMPACT Elite!
The Great Game of Business
The Great Game of Business is about doing open-book management in a way that encourages all employees to think like business-owners. The official website, greatgame.com says the Great Game “educates your people in the rules of business, rallies them around a common goal, empowers them to see and improve the score, and engages them by giving them skin in the game... presenting them with the opportunity to win (or lose) as a team.”
Some things to note about The Great Game:
- Team members operate as if they own the business
- Decisions are made with intentionality and insights
- Everyone understands the impact they personally could have on the outcomes
- Each team is accountable and responsible for projecting and controlling revenues and/or expenses within their area
- Everyone has access to the financials and understands what they mean
We're now doing The Great Game at IMPACT! We had our first Great Game meeting on Tuesday morning and it went really well! I was lucky enough to see another company, Tasty Catering, play The Great Game this past spring when I attended Small Giants with Bob. Here's the episode where we talk about Small Giants and Tasty Catering.

Discussions from IMPACT Elite
Mark Croft Wants to Solve for Complex Email Preferences Pages
Mark Croft posted in Elite "Hi Elite! I'm looking for a creative solution for something I don't think HubSpot really supports... multiple email subscription preferences pages. I have a client that generates email content for prospects and customers. Each audience has multiple categories of information they can subscribe to."
After some discussion, Mark eventually shared a screenshot to show just how many email types they have (and in multiple languages!). We've been working on this at IMPACT as well - creating a better experience for subscribers to manage their email preferences. When I saw all the email types Mark showed I thought about how we've been working to consolidate our email types and send less email overall. Granted, this is what works for us. I am curious if Mark's client needs to be sending all these emails or not. Maybe there's a better way to accomplish their goal? If they're getting a lot of engagement on their emails then naturally, it's probably worth following this path. Check out the whole discussion in Elite!
Blog Amplification and Content Promotion
Johan J Ingles-le Nobel posted a question in Elite about blog amplification and content promotion tools and techniques. He said: "there’s got to be better way at the promotion end to encourage more exposure and inbound, ie blog promotion channels, so my main question is really around what platforms/actionable strategies you might recommend to achieve MUCH greater blog amplification..."
This lead to a great discussion and, since his boss doesn't want any subscription emails at all (quite the opposite of Mark's situation!), there's definitely a different strategy needed here. Check out the discussion in Elite.
